Surrounded by bitterness, boorishness, and bombarded with roast rather than redolence, an Alaskan has been forced to bushwack more than most could endure. “A kick in the teeth” or “A punch in the face” is what you’ve been telling yourself for so long that it has become canon.

But I tell you: You are lost, my friend. You are lost.

There is no need to wade wearily amongst the magnitude. Let us show you the right-footed path. Allow us to introduce you to the light where for too long there has been but darkness pushing down, down, down.

There is a new light, a new path, a new way to …drink um, oh yeah… it’s coffee.

find your way.

Impact:

Smallholders in Bellavista, Chiapas have access to healthy seedlings, high-quality fertilizer, financing, and purchase guarantees thanks to the partnerships with importers such as Volcafe in the case of this coffee. In addition, farmers benefit from technical and agricultural assistance. Today, Bellavista’s growers are part of a network of thousands of producers who have collectively renewed over 5,000 hectares of farmland in Mexico.

La Bastilla Coffee Estates, located in the north-east region of Jinotega, NIcaragua, is renowned for its coffee. On its two farms, Finca La Bastilla and Finca Santa Luz, the estate employs around 50 permanent and up to 600 temporary employees during the harvest season. Surrounded by the natural reserve Cerro Datanli El Diablo, just a few kilometers from Lago de Apanas, Finca La Bastilla is a tropical paradise for the fauna and flora founded on deep, favorable volcanic soils. Since 2003, the farm has been certified by the Rainforest Alliance and is striving for continued excellence.

Junin smallholder farmers work together to ensure each other’s harvests are ready for export. This bond between local producers is directly translated to the quality of the individual’s coffee. This particular lot comes from farmers committed to organic practices and is fully certified.
